Describe what you would like us to do:

We have a new CentOS SIG, Proposed Updates - see https://git.centos.org/centos/board/issue/130 for board approval (it was initially proposed as the Fast Track SIG) and https://pagure.io/centos-infra/issue/1614 for the centos-infra task setting it up

Now that we're almost ready to do an official launch (it's just pending some website work for the launch announcement - see https://gitlab.com/CentOS/proposed_updates/sig/-/issues/1) can this gets an additional #centos-proposed-updates:fedoraproject.org to be recognized as an "official" room? It's already added to the CentOS -> CentOS SIGs space so we just need the additional address

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

2025-04-06

Ideally by that date so we can announce it in the CentOS Showcase on April 7

@salimma Please send an invite to @fca:fedoraproject.org and set that account to Admin role. I can set the room alias and add the room to the Fedora Space and sub-spaces.

As part of the triage around this issue, I have done the following steps:

  • Added #centos-space:fedoraproject.org alias and set it as the default alias for #centos-space:fedora.im.
  • Added #centos-space:fedoraproject.org as a sub-space of #fedora-space:fedoraproject.org.
  • Added several rooms relevant to CentOS contributors to #centos-space:fedoraproject.org and added a few CentOS rooms to #sigs-space:fedoraproject.org.

I can finish this ticket by adding a :fedoraproject.org alias to the room, and then it can be closed.
